Quality Processes That Guarantee Your Satisfaction
Every Skilcraft employee is responsible for continuous quality improvement at every step of the manufacturing process. This includes a thorough quality assurance program in each area of operation, a highly-trained staff that is held to strict professional standards and a ceaseless investment in new equipment and technologies with the most advanced systems available today. Our dedication to quality allows us to work in a range of industries as government contractors, banking security manufactures and aerospace manufacturers.
First Article Inspection
Our concern for quality extends past just making high quality products for ourselves; we want our customers to join with us in the quality process. At Skilcraft, we believe taking the extra time formally documenting each part of the process allows us to maintain a higher level of quality. First article inspection capability includes PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and aerospace customer first article capability to verify internal processes and provide additional assurance to customers. Skilcraft has successfully completed first article verification for multiple commercial and aerospace customers, including complex engineering design configurations.
AS9100 and ISO9001
Skilcraft has developed internal processes and procedures to meet and exceed the stringent requirements of quality system standards AS9100 and ISO9001. Internal systems maintain sufficient flexibility to satisfy the most demanding customer requirements. Planning and operations can process both commercial and aerospace level hardware efficiently to meet the quality and delivery expectations of our customers.
I have been with Skilcraft since 2014, in the position of Quality Manager. My background includes over 30 years of experience in quality assurance for production related businesses. As a Quality Manager, I interface with the entire organization to ensure adequate performance and compliant products.
My duties include managing/staffing the quality group, developing internal processes and procedures to ensure certification of Skilcraft to aerospace quality standards, and evaluating products to verify compliance with all customer requirements.
I started with Skilcraft LLC in September 2013 as a press brake operator. After seven months on the shop floor, I transitioned to a quality position. I currently serve as the quality technician in the commercial, medical, and GSA side of Skilcraft. I’m also attending school in pursuit of a degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. I love getting the chance to use knowledge learned in the classroom and directly applying that knowledge to my work.
Before coming to Skilcraft, I spent 4 years in the US Navy, where my primary role was in Mine Warfare. I spent a total of 25 months in the Middle East supporting the Global War on Terror. The experience that I gained in the military provided me with the work ethic and attention to detail that is necessary to maintain the standards of quality that are expected at Skilcraft.
My proudest moment at Skilcraft was my transition from the shop floor to Quality. What I like most about my Quality role is that I get to work with such diverse and unique products. One minute I could be inspecting a safe that will potentially hold secret information, and the next, I examine parts that will be used to assemble a medical stapler.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, riding my motorcycle (when it’s warm) and hiking.
